August 8th 2022

Hi, everybody, August is upon us, and we have 90-degree weather. Summer is my favorite season, but I would like it better if I had some water to swim in. I need a pool. I am going to order one of those blow-up ones on Amazon one of these days and when Steve comes home, he'll find me sitting in it, probably with a book. :)

What have you all been up to? Now that I'm retired, I find I am even more busy than when I was working. Mostly hanging out with my friends and family, or my red hat group, the Sinclair Babes. Today I had lunch with a group of ladies from my church. I have to learn to listen more, as I get gabby about things and the luncheon is to discuss events coming up, like a chili cook off. This was about food, so I was pretty interested! I saw two great movies last month, ELVIS, which I gave 5 stars, and Where the Crawdads Sing, which I gave 4 1/2 stars. I am also reading, Cowboy, by Danielle Steele. She has always been one of favorite authors. I actually gave a few books out today to my church friends. I hope they give my stories 5 stars!

I have been spending a lot of time amongst my flowers. Every morning I go for a walk and then reward myself in my hammock. Then I walk around the house and assess who needs attention. I am so fortunate, I have 7 rose bushes, a hydrangea bush, an oak hydrangea shrub and a hibiscus. These flowers give me such pleasure and I love taking pictures of them. I also have 3 hummingbird feeders out. Soon the little birds will leave our area, but for now, every time I see one, I smile.

I hope all of you who find this blog are having a great summer. Be kind to each other and if you ever get to Missouri, shoot me an e-mail, we can do lunch!

Debbie
